Spend your days relaxing in your private over-water bungalow, snorkel or dive to take in the marine life (note, the Maldives offer some of the best diving spots in Asia), or take a sunset cruise to revel in the sun going down over the ocean. The waters surrounding the Maldives are said to contain two-thirds of the world’s species of reef fish, water activities are the main draw to the islands. A trip here is going to take a substantial amout of travel time, so make sure you have enough days to make it worth the journey or perhaps combine it with a visit to India or Thailand.
